"ROOTS"
"Roots" it's an illustration of me and my ethnicity and culture. I am from Uzbekistan. I wanted to tell the story of my ancestors, tradition, and art. In the illustration the girl is me and I am holding a pomegranate that symbolises a symbol of beauty and it is said to give beauty to those who eat it. I am offering the beauty of my culture to the person who will see my illustration. There is Uzbek traditional clothing ( fabric is called 'ikat') and ancient Uzbek accessories are worn on me. In the background is a traditional Uzbek rug that can be found in any house in Uzbekistan. My idea is to literally illustrate my identity, culture, ancestors. tradition and ethnicity. The medium I used is digital illustration its because I wanted the combination of historical and modern. I myself am a very modern girl so the digital part of the work represents that.
